1. AJMER- old name”ajaymeru” -7th century by Ajaypal chouhan
a) Khwaza ki Dargah- (khwaza-moinuddin-chisti) famous for URSH fair
b) Taragarh Fort – by ajasydev on taragarh hill
c) Magazine Museum- once the royal home of Prince Salim(Jahangir)
d) Anasagar Lake- built by Anaji , by the lake “Daulat bagh”,a garden laidout by Emperor Jahangir
e) Soniji ki Nasiyan- in 1856 by Mulchand Soni, he built a temple named “Sidhkoot Chaitalaya” presently known as –soniji ki nasiya . it’s a digambara jain temple.
f) Adhai Din ka Jhopada- built by Bisaldev in 1153 but one book says built by Vigrahraj 4th . it was a Sanskirit school and Vaishanav temple later Qutubuddin aibak demolished and converted
g) Pushkar- famous for one and only Brahma temple and Pushkar lake .
2. ALWAR- Aalor or Alur old names .bulit by Raja Pratap Singh naruka. also called as (Scotland of Rajasthan, Singhdwar)
a) Musi Maharani ki Chattri- built by Maharaja Vinay Singh-in1815. Red stone used and situated on 80 poles.
b) SiliSedh Lake – (Rajasthan’s Nandkanan)
c) Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary - Tiger Safari area and 4 temples are there- Pandupol, Neelkanth, Bhartrihari, and Talvrikash
d) Sariska Palace- built for Welcome of Prince of Wales
e) Bhangarh Fort- Haunted place .
3 BHARATPUR – Maharaja Surajmal -1773, (Rajasthan’s East Door)
Bhagalpur’s fort also known as “lohagarh”
a) Jawahar Burj- by Maharaja Jawahar Singh on occasion of victory on Delhi. Burj as victory tower.
b) Kevladev National Park (Ghana) – famous for foreign bird types (alag se pdf on national parks later).
c) Deeg – Jalmahlon ki City
d) Roopwas-“Khanwa” battle ground Babar and Rana Sanga fought there -1527

a) Bikaner Fort and Palace – by Raja RaySingh famous for 37 towers and Mughal Art
b) LalGarh Palace- famous for inscription art on inner walls
c) Gajner Palace- situated in boundaries of Gajner Desert Park famous for “Batbad Titar”(Imperial Sandgawz ) also called as “Ret ka Titar”.
d) Karni Mata temple- Deshnok famous for rats in temple especially white rates
e) Kolayat – famous for Kapil Muni’s place and Kolayat Lake
5. JAIPUR- in 1727 by Swai Jaisingh – city architect – Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya
a) Rajmahal (city palace) - surrounded by walls in 4 directions, main gate is named as
“sardhyodhi” and the gate only used by royals “tripolia gate”
b)Chandra palace- famous for rajpoot art
c) Jantar Mantar- everybody knows
d) Hawamahal- Palace of Winds or Palace of Breeze built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap singh designed by lalchand ustad. 5 floors and 953 small windows .
e) Ramniwas Bagh- by MahaRaja RamSingh, Albert hall Museum situated there . Ramniwas bagh is a example of Indo- Saracenic architecture .
f) Galtaji- Ancient Hindu pilgrimage sacred kunds are there. Saint Galav lived there and did penance.
g) Nahargarh Fort- built in 1734 by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh
h) Amer – “Maotha lake”, Jaigarh Fort, Sheesh Mahal and Sheela Mata Temple are attraction for tourists.
6. UDAIPUR- 1568 by Maharana Uday Singh
“Lake City”, “Venice of East”
a) Rajmahal (city palace) - by Maharani Uday Singh at Pichola Lake
b) Lake palace (Jag-Niwas) - situated on Jag Niwas island in lake Pichola. Now a 5 star hotel
c) Jag Mandir( Lake Garden Palace ) – Jag Mandir is another island in lake Pichola . Shahjhan
took refuge there, now a restaurant run by HRH group.
d) Jagdish Temple- by Jagat Singh-1 in 1651 it’s a example of Indo-Aryan Architecture.
e) Saheliyon ki Bari- The gardens set below the embankment of the Fatah Sagar Lake. Saheliyon ki Bari was laid for a group of 48 young women attendants who accompanied a Princess to
Udaipur as part of her dowry.
f) Gulab Bagh- (Rose Garden) or (Sajjan Niwas Bagh)- by Maharaja Sajjan Singh situated near the palace on the east side of the Lake Pichhola.
g) Moti Magri- Mahrana Pratap memorial at Fatah Sagar Lake. Bronze statue of Maharana
h) Jagat – knowan as” Khajuraho of Rajasthan” and famous for Jagdambeshwari Durga temple.
i) Haldighati- a mountain pass in Rajsamand district that hosted the battle between Maharana
Pratap and Akbar.
j) Shri Nathdwara- 48km from Udaipur famous for “Pichwai” paintings .
k) Rnakpur- famous for Jain temple built by Dharansah oshwal jain- 1400+ pillars support the
temple of god Adinath.
l) Kumbhal Garh- in 1448 by Maharana Kumbha . it also has a wildlife sanctuary located in Rajsamand district.
m) Eklingji – devoted to the royal family of Mewar built in 734ad and consist of 108 temples in chiseled out of sandstone and marbles.
a) Chittorgarh Fort- world heritage site situated on the left bank of The Beraich river (A Tributary of The Banas ). It is considered to be the largest fort of India in terms of area .7 gates are there- Pandal pole, Laxman pol, Bheron pol, Hanuman pol , Ganesh pole, Jodla pol and Ram pol.
b) Vijay Stambha- (Tower of Victory)- in Chittorgarh Fort. Constructed by Mewar King Rana Kumbha on victory over the Malva and Gujrat.
c) Kirti Stambha – in Chittorgarh Fort by Jain Merchant Jeeja Bhagerwala and 12th centuary tower.
d) others-Maharana Kumbha Mahal (Palace), Gurumukh Resorvair, Padmini’s Palace.
8. KOTA- education city
a) Rangbadi – ancient Mahaveer temple ,chattriyan and gardens. b) Baroli- 8th century dated temples are there.
c) Darrah National Park (Mukundra Hills) - Kota –Jhalawad 3rd National Park of Rajasthan d) Others- Gaparnath,Sitabadi,Adharsila,Chatarvilas.
9. BUNDI- named after tribe man “Bunda Meena”. Later the region governed by Rao Deva Hada
a) Bundi Fort- built in 17th century most impo. place of this fort is Chatra Mahal built by Chatrasaal in 1531.
b) Others- Nawal Sagar, Mordi kiCchattri, Fool sagar 10- MOUNT ABU – (Arbudanchal)- in Sirohi district
Highest peak on the mountains of the rajasthan “Guru Shikhar ”(1722m) is there.
a) Dilwara’s Jain temples- 5 temples built by Vastupal, Tejpal and Vimal Shah. Temples are known for their architectural perfection.
b) Achalgarh- 4 jain temples. Gaumukhji temple is famous . achal garh built by Mahrana
Kumbha in 1452.
c)others- Nakki lake – Tod rock, Nan rock , Nandi rock, Camel rock , Bulldog rock , Sunset Point , Arbuda devi temple etc.
11.JAISALMER- built in 1156 by - Yadav Rajpoot Raval Jaisal Singh
a) Jaisalmer ort – World heritage site . situated in thar desert on trikuta hill . knowan as “sonar-quilla” or (golden fort).
b) patwon ki haveli – it was built by a famous trader named Guman Chand and his sons . Entire construction is made of yellow sand stone.
c) Others- Desert National Park, Gadisar Lake, Amarsar pond, and Bada Bagh,
